Bucharest Expat Event

Our end of summer Bucharest Expat event is coming soon on the 16th of September. We’ll have a handful of expats, foreigners and travelers all in one place; Ofir Cafe next to San Paolo bank in the city center across the street from the Piata Unirii Metro station on Unirii Blvd. See the bottom of the post for exact location.

Have you ever gone to a “meet and greet” for expats in Bucharest or anywhere else for that matter and been “disappointed” to say the least? You won’t be sitting in the corner listening to “sales pitches” here. We are achieving our goal at Bucharest Expat of bringing like-minded people together for productive networking, social gathering, and just plain old fun.

This is a great way to build your contact list, meet new people from all walks of life, and best of all become a part of the fastest growing expatriate community in Bucharest Romania!

We are seeking to “profile” and create articles for and with local expats! Be there to chat and share your story… and be a featured author on our site.

This event will be hosted at Ofir Cafe with a special display of Harley-Davidson Motorcycles, a fine selection of complimentary wines, and catering by Bucharest’s icon sandwich store “Snack Attack“. Keep checking back for more updates and details regarding this Bucharest Expat Event on September 16, 2010.

    Hello Trevor,
Was just wondering whether the party time could be extended beyond 9pm as I have tutoring upto 8pm in Baneasa and it would be highly improbable that I can make it to the event.

    Thanks for the reply mate
    Cheers

We’re not closing and kicking everyone out of course… that was just a rough estimate as to when things will begin to wind down… may go much longer.. who knows. Would love to see you there whenever you can.

One of the many things I love about Bucharest is that the expats I have met so far are from such diverse walks of life. This sounds like a great opportunity to meet more. Thanks for organising it.

I am going to be out of town for the next few days, which is a shame as this is exactly the sort of event I want to be at! Can I ask if you are planning to make this a regular thing?

  • http://www.bettercareconsulting.com Aliscot

We will probably organise this every 2-3 months, it gets boring..We want to do different events that appeal to different groups, pub crawl, cookery display, a table at Oktoberfest, anything we think is a good idea.

    We want your ideas!!

I am going to shout up for a group sightsee-ing trip somewhere with some good photo opportunities. I think a lot of people miss out on the things available due to transport issues. A day out with others is always fun.

Raspberry I feel the same. The folk I work with all have such interesting pasts and I can hardly believe that we all ended up in the same place. I’ve been out of the loop lately and just found out about this event. I will try my best to make it but if not I hope to catch you at the next thing organised.

That’s a great idea. Are you thinking of the sights of Bucharest or catching the nature further afield?

So…how many people will we meet?

  • http://www.bettercareconsulting.com Aliscot

well if you dont come, you will not meet anyone, we expect anything between 50-100, we dont mind, we just want good company and a chance to meet new friends!!

See you there, in this case.

It was great fun last night. Good wine and nice people. I’m definitely looking forward to the next party.

I don’t really mind as I am sure I’d see some new things in Bucharest itself if that was on the agenda. Longer trips are harder to do solo though, so a little of both would be the ideal option.
