It’s definitely a great idea to try to shape up a little before the christmas festivities. Then after your workout you can relax in the jacuzzi and sauna section.

Is it advisable to have a massage after a workout? Then, this is the place to go to, before having dinner at the hotel restaurant and then hit the bed when I get back to base. That would be a great weekend treat!

  • Shandy

A massage after a workout would feel really good. Be careful not to drink alcohol with dinner though. I like your idea of making a weekend of it, staying the night would be perfect.

I think it’s great that Bucharest Expat readers get a discount. That’s a real motivation to get started before the mad post xmas rush! Now I just need to find out how much the other 90% will cost!

  • Lemontop

The picture suggests they have a lot of equipment which is great. I really need to get back into the gym habit, when I am in that mode I like to be able to use the equipment easily and not wait for ages for a turn.

  • Romy

Right! I’m interested to know how much is the fee for this. I think there is a discount for Bucharest Expat readers because the blog mentioned that we could mention them when we visit that gym.

  • Rosea

I’m interested in joining but I’d like to know what kind of gear people wear there. I see a gym as a place to workout rather than to rock the latest in designer clothes. I would hate to feel out of place in my old T-shirts and jogging bottoms!

  • Windy

I agree with you, Lemontop! After a day of sitting in the office, and I need to work out to stretch my cramped muscles, it’s demotivating for me if I have to wait in line to use the gym equipment.

It’s a gym that’s also open to hotel guests so there is a broad variety of approaches to workout fashion, from baggy shorts and t-shirts to vacuum packed lycra (if you’ll pardon the expression). My approach to gym clothes is to wear something that allows free movement and is comfortable. Favorite designer brands include Adidas and Nike :)

  • David

I think it’s okay to wear whatever is comfortable for you. Even old work out clothes. You don’t go there to show off like you do in a beach.

The perks for signing up before the end of the year sound great, but I never like going to gyms during January. Most places are crowded with New Years Resolutioners who don’t know what they are doing. Luckily, they don’t usually stay past the end of the month, so February it’s safe to come back.

With this gym in a hotel, you’ll see non-regulars every day. From the pictures, it seems like there is plenty of room for everyone, and I plan on giving it a try.

  • Travellingman

I am not planning on being around long enough to make it worth a fixed term membership. I’m up for ad hoc visits though, I really need to drop by and ask if that is a possibility. Happy new year everyone.

Good thing that there are more wellness centers in Bucharest now, and this one offers one of the best in terms of equipment and convenience. I won’t have to go too far either for the reflexo-therapy that I like to have every weekend.
