Bucharest expat was established in late 2008 – early 2009 by a small group of travelers who happened to be doing business in, and traveling to Romania (specifically Bucharest) for many years. We noticed that there is a growing desire for expatriates (expats) to be able to sit down, relax, and read something informative yet entertaining about where they live, work and play. We also found ourselves searching for information regarding Bucharest online, which would inevitably lead us to a “generic” travel site or a confusing directory-style, un-navigable website of Bucharest.

After setting up our site almost a year ago and “seeing where it went” we now have a very clear picture of the most common things and bits of information that people traveling to, or living in Bucharest are searching for. We’ve settled on the slogan: Live. Learn. Bucharest. Whether you are a first time visitor or a seasoned expat, you’ll find something here you like. There is something here for everyone.
