Bucharest Movie Cinema

Bucharest has a fairly wide selection of movie cinemas (theaters for us Americans) that one can choose from. Admission prices tend to be around the 3-6 Euro range, higher end Cinemas demanding higher admissions, lower end and independent theaters reflecting the lower of the costs. If you’re simply looking for a great night out at the movies then look no further than Plaza Romania, The City Mall or Bucuresti Mall, Vitan. These screens are the best bet. The sound systems are on par with modern digital, the image quality is decent, and the seats are comfortable and clean. If you’re not used to assigned seating, get used to it. Get there early to get your seats, and ask for a seat map so you can select your desired seat from what’s available.

Bucharest remains a bit behind the times in the releases of films, so don’t expect Hollywood’s hottest hits to be showing anytime soon. They’re about 3-4 months behind the times in this regard, but films stay in cinemas a bit longer than their American or English counterparts.
