Top 5 Bucharest Hotels

Radisson Blu

Radisson Blu

Radisson Blu

Why we like the Radisson Blu: Other than the fact that we were utterly “blown away” by the New Years’ events that they hold here, the hotel itself is a masterpiece of “Trendy” modern design. With a cool water-feature under the central bar and lounge area, to a well-done casino, and sumptuous rooms, the Radisson does not disappoint. Room rates can be on the higher side if not booked ahead of time, but with a little preparedness and finagling at the front desk you can get a great deal. Look at your rooms first before booking, as the level dictates what flooplan you’ll get. Some are nicer than others with better views. You’ll like the bathrooms and the “Prime” dining. Calea Victoriei 63-81.

Carol Parc Hotel

Carol Parc Hotel

Carol Parc Hotel

Why we like the Carol Parc Hotel: Comfortable Rooms, Great service, Secure Parking, and a decent location to keep yourself close to the airport but AWAY from serious traffic congestion. You’ll also have secure parking and a “quiet” setting. Aleea Suter 23-25

Phoenicia Grand

Phoenicia Grand

Phoenicia Grand Hotel

Why we like the Phoenicia Grand: Strong wifi connections throughout the front of the hotel. The rates are cheap for the quality and amenities you’ll get in this hotel. You have a nice selection of restaurants including Lebanese and Romanian cuisine, you have a nice coffee shop/bar downstairs (close to an exchange with decent rates) and if you desire, a nightclub downstairs. The proximity to the Airport is great, and “normal” in town taxis don’t mind coming do get you to bring you to the center at normal meter rates. This is a hotel where you will want reservations… even you if call 30 minutes ahead. The seem to always want reservation numbers at the check-in no matter availability. Avenue Alexandru Serbanescu 87

Novotel

Novotel

Novotel Bucharest City Centre

Why we like the Novotel: This location is great (Victoriei) if you like boutique shopping. You’re near Guess Brands, Hugo Boss, and many other boutiques. You’re also within walking distance to “Old Town” Lipscani… right across the street… for some great nightlife. The rooms are great, but with some gimmicky “modern” twists that take some getting used to (IKEA-ish). With a nice lounge area downstairs and nice fitness center, this one is worth the money. Check out the cool “automated” lap pool in the sauna/spa area. Calea Victoriei 37B

Prince Residence

Prince Residence

Prince Residence

Why we like Prince Residence: This is a unique twist on apart-hotels. Offering GREAT RATES on nightly single rooms coupled with a great location right behind Unirea this is a good choice to make if you are “on the fence” between a hotel and short term apartment rental. The rooms are “nice” but sparse, the staff is friendly and the area is secure. Great place to “unpack” your suitcase for a while. Wifi was spotty once though… so inquire about that first, but overall the value and apart-hotel concept put this in our Top 5. Strada Principatele unite
